Movvent is built by Mahmoud AlBustan and Fahad AlHajeri

Two computer engineers from Kuwait. We started Movvent because people here are not short of the will to go out and take part. They are short of one place to find the events that suit them. This page says who we are, what we are building, and why.

Co-founder — platform and infrastructure

Mahmoud AlBustan is from Kuwait City and studies Computer Engineering at the American University of Kuwait (AUK), specialising in artificial intelligence. What marks him out is that he finishes things: IslamTools, a privacy-first Islamic companion app built in Flutter and released on both iOS and Android; Codewords, a party game past thirty thousand downloads with AI running live inside the game engine; and Bioverse, a space-biology research engine that answers only from NASA datasets and six hundred peer-reviewed studies, built on retrieval-augmented generation so that it cannot invent an answer.

Fahad AlHajeri is from Kuwait City and studies Computer Engineering at the American University of the Middle East (AUM), graduating in May 2027. His work runs from embedded systems to interface design.

What is Movvent?
Movvent is a Kuwaiti app for every kind of event: people find events near them, join and check in on site, and organisations post and run their events in the same app.
Who founded Movvent?
Movvent was founded by Mahmoud AlBustan and Fahad AlHajeri, two computer engineers from Kuwait City. Mahmoud builds the platform and infrastructure; Fahad leads the mobile app.
Where is Movvent based?
In Kuwait. It is built for Kuwait first, and Arabic is its primary language.
Has the app launched?
The Movvent iPhone app is launching on the App Store as Movvent (موڤنت), and the first version is for iPhone only. Sign up on the home page and we will tell you when it is on the App Store. Signing up does not reserve an event place.

Why we built Movvent

Kuwait has no shortage of events: community days, sport, workshops, culture, people fixing, painting and cleaning, and organisers who have brought people together for years. What is missing is not willingness. It is the means: knowing there is something on near you this week, understanding what is being asked of you, and turning up without having to be inside the right group chat.

So we are building Movvent around what matters: finding an event, taking part, and running one well. Coins are a thank-you for taking part, and someone who comes once is as welcome as someone who comes every week.

We would rather say plainly what we have built than promise something we have not made.
